James Blake – Give A Man A Rod Second Version from sylvain77 on Vimeo.
Courtesy of Radio 1′s Benji B we have a new version of the amazing James Blake’s Give A Man A Rod. The tune has now appeared as a video stream and will be released as part of a new Hessle Audio project, 116 and Rising due May 16th. Curated by the imprint’s three co-founders – Ben UFO, Pangaea and Pearson Sound (AKA Ramadanman) – the CD version is comprised of 12 all new tracks, contributed from every producer who’s previously released a 12″ on Hessle – Hypetrak. Enjoy!
I was at this event last night and I have to say, this 2 hour discussion was probably the most interesting event I’ve been to in years. Phone, 9th and Rosenberg captivated an entire sold out audience with stories of Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil B, Odd Future and much MUCH more. I can’t wait to see the rest of the footage. I could honestly listen to Phonte speak for hours, the man is just so damn entertaining. During this event a very interesting topic was brought up as you can obviously tell by the headline. Press play to see what ensued.
It’s always good to hear new Donnis. Been rocking with the ATL native since Diary of an ATL Brave and he’s been consistently dope. Always dropping music you can rock, think and just swag out to. Loving the production by Syience, here’s what Dan had to say “We are exacty one week away from the release of Southern Lights, which will contain 13 original tracks (tracklisting coming later this week). And with the weather warming up in the Northeast as well as around the country, it’s only right we hit you with something to ride out to until you can get your hands on the full project, dropping April 12th and presented by Karmaloop.com

Star Slinger has been on a roll with his recent remixes lately. This time around he gives us a I don’t wanna say cooler but more upbeat version of Alex Winston’s Sister Wife which we posted earlier this week. I’m loving it. And be on the lookout for this singer, she’s got all the ingredients for a lengthy career ahead of her, just remember where you heard her first!

This is a situation where two rights make this track so so right! Phoenix (a fave indy-pop band) plus RAC (bad-ass remixers) is quite the tasty concoction. First time I heard RAC chop something up was on a Beyonce, Sweet Dreams remix. Yet again, they have not disappointed me with this bright and lofty electro synth remix. Thanks dudes!

I had the opportunity to kick it with these dudes this summer at Rock The Bells and I must say that they were some sharp cats. This track is a testament to that. Khrysis on the boards with heat…as usual!
The Dean’s List – #K2YL
I want to use a lot of curse words to describe how awesome and amazing I think this group is. I discovered them over a year ago randomly browsing through the internets and the one question that’s always been on my mind is..why aren’t they famous yet?? Not to worry cause mark my words, Sonny, Mendoza and Mik are WELL on their way to becoming established musicians and artists. This track is bananas, Sonny once again continues to impress me not only with his lyrics but I kinda like his face a lot too (insert hearts here). The Dean’s List gives us music that we can just vibe to.. I think they’re the bees knees and hopefully after a year of me hyping them up..you’ve finally decided to pay attention.

I seen a baby cry then seconds later she laughed, the beauty of life, the pain never lasts
