It’s crazy to me to hear how White Noise can take this timeless song by Nancy Sinatra (yes daughter of Frank whose most famous song was These Boots are Made For Walking) and give it such a upbeat and current twist. I myself am addicted to anything that sounds remotely similar to dubstep so this has been getting quite some play in the work area today. Hope you enjoy!
B.o.B. – No Future
Okay, here’s the deal. There’s some talk around the internets that this track might be a diss to the ever popular (for reasons unknown) group Odd Future. Get it Odd Future.. No Future? Not really sure what Bobby Ray’s tryna prove here with his guitar rifting, rapping soul but … listen to what the young 22 year old superstar has to say and then you make the judgments on whether or not shots are being sent off.
I am not mad at this white boy. I love soulful, caucasian Robin Thickesque crooners. They just make my heart smile. Also Christian Rich did the production of this song and..they just killed it. I love this from beginning to end and Pusha is such a great addition. John’s currently signed to Mercury/Def Jam and should be releasing his album sometime this summer. I think this is absolutely delightful.

While at SxSW I got a chance to FINALLY meet the homie Lyriciss (we’re working out an interview soon so be on the lookout for that). Word of advice: keep your ears and eyes on this DMV representer because he’s hella talented and has got our support 110% with that said, up top is a pretty dope freestyle from Lyriciss and Mo Betta while down in Austin.
Speaking of Pusha, if you haven’t downloaded this gem yet – I highly suggest doing so. Pusha never disappoints and he’s got quite the hype surrounding him. Take a listen and let me know if he lives up to it.

B.o.B. – NY, NY (Crysis 2)
On the heels of the Knicks losing last night and Spike Lee needing to be consoled by Ray Allen’s mom I’m not too sure how to feel about this song. This is a promotional track for the video game Crysis 2 which will be released this Tuesday (March 22) and samples the late great Frank Sinatra. Take a listen, Bobby Ray undoubtedly gives everything a unique twist. If I wasn’t feeling some kinda way right now..I’d be in love with it.
By now, I’m sure your grandparents are already up on Odd Future. These boys have somehow taken over the world with their alarming rhymes, skateboards and mentions of unicorns. I can dig it. I kinda like the fact that Tyler scares me. It’s endearing. Pretty upset that I missed their set at Fader Fort but..they’ll be countless amount of times I’ll be able to see them in concert again. Wolf Gang!

I seen a baby cry then seconds later she laughed, the beauty of life, the pain never lasts
