You know when a beat is SO good you make a stink face? That’s what I’m doing right now, I’m loving this track. The homie DdotOmen will be releasing his Show of Hands project on January 11th and my god if this is any indication of what he’s got up his sleeves, I’m thoroughly impressed. Adding fellow DMV representer Tabi Bonney on the track is a great addition, Tabs is definitely a slept on talent!

Ha, I love when Terrace narrates before his songs and I like the theme of this track, ” a song about thirsty ass ninjas who always think you owe them something” He grabs Kendrick and CyHi – who are two new artists who know a little something about people jumping on their bandwagon. Terrace’s project which is hosted by DJ Drama The Sex EP drops on February 13th.

2009 XXL Freshman Blu has always been one of my favorites. His style blends great with jazz beats that I love so much but he’s NEVER consistent. He drops tracks randomly and most of the time when he does decide to drop something I’m asleep…you know how people never sleep and love the grind? Yeah I ALWAYS sleep and love to sleep. No joke I’ve had Mayor on repeat ALL day today, these boys must’ve known I’ve been in Pac Div withdrawal. I feel like it’s been FOREVER and a day since they’ve dropped new material so to start 2011 off on the right note the boys give us a dope track to rock with. They never disappoint, hopefully a new album is in the works!

Arite, I’ve found my jam of the day. This is completely the BUSINESS. Every artist featured on this track will be having a standout year this 2011. I have to tip my hat off to Omen and Audio BLK on the production; everything just works. It’s lovely to hear Erin’s voice on the hook, she’s a refreshing breath of air, such a naturally talented beauty.

Ah Skeme’s been on my radar for quite some time now, after hearing him on Kendrick’s OD my interest was thoroughly peaked, shortly after he dropped his on project Pistols and Palm Trees which the original version of this track was featured on. I will say that there are not many mixtapes that I can listen to from beginning to end and Skeme’s project is definitely something i’ve had on rotation for awhile. Glad to see him recruiting his fellow West Coast MC’s on the remix to one of my favorite joints. OH and today’s his birthday! Happy Birthday sir!

It kinda makes me sad that this is going to be the last solo effort that Mr. DeShay will be releasing for awhile but..at least this young MC went out with a bang. I’m sure by now BrandUn’s name seems somewhat familiar as he’s produced for a lot of up and comers such as Dom Kennedy and Phil Ade. Hopefully he’ll continue with his production cause with talent like his, it’d be a damn shame if it was silenced.

Oh Tyler! Now I realize that Tyler, The Creator may not be everyone’s cup of Gatorade but I thoroughly enjoy this young man. I promise that if you don’t know who he is right now by this time next year you more definitely will. What I like about Tyler is that he’s so god damn random and just doesn’t give a fuck which more than half the time gets him in trouble with someone..which he really doesn’t give a fuck about either. Pigeons and Planes shed some light on some recently released old material courtesy of Odd Future’s tumblr so if you’re trying to get yourself into some dope music, I suggest downloading some of these tracks.
