King Mezington. A favorite over here at BT-Dubs, but honestly how could you not love this kid? He has such a likability to him, he’ll never have a problem with finding fans. While down in Texas for SxSW (I’m mad I didn’t get to see him while there!) Karmaloop catches up with the North Carolina MC to talk about his experience in Austin as well as his thoughts on Texas women, ha.

Eesh, it’s 15 minutes long but..if you’re not hip to the phenom that is Jermaine Cole it’s 15 minutes worth watching. I watched but then again I’m a fan girl of Cole’s. Up top he speaks on his favorite rapper, his song that he did with Miguel, twitter as well as much MUCH more!

It’s crazy to me. To see this young man perform for the first time ever over a year ago in NYC and hear him get booed, to see him performing the next day at SOBs to present day where he’s accomplishing everything he’s ever dreamed of. This track playing in the background was probably the first song that I fell in love with of K.R.I.T.’s. The man just knows what sounds good. And what I admire about him is that he stays so close to these beautiful soul samples in many of his songs. He’s a great representation of the South and I’m glad people are finally taking notice to what a powerhouse he is. Although he does bare a striking resemblance to Tracy Morgan that’s the only thing I could really joke about with this kid. His music speaks to generations young and old. So, what keeps you alive? “Four big bottles of water a day , 2 packs of Marlboro reds, and.. I dunno what keeps me alive? Shit..um, music, I’d have to listen to music all day long, I’d say that keeps me going. I’m a pretty dark person, i thought about ending it a million times and I have to say that music keeps me here. By far. The main thing”

The Heart Part 2 ft Dash Snow also happens to be one of my favorite songs from Kendrick Lamar’s amazing mixtape Overly Dedicated. Up top while at SxSW, Soul Culture TV catches up with the very talented West Coast MC to talk about  his favorite verse to date. You can hear how emotional Kendrick gets towards the end of this song, it’s so damn powerful. Music man..it constantly amazes me.

Sean tells his story while on the air with LA Leakers. When Sean’s not talking about all the jewelry he wears and the Gucci belts, deep down he seems like a very humble dude. Big Sean is someone I really want to win in the rap game even though..I also really want him to pull up his pants. LA Leakers always comes through with interesting interviews, shout out to them!

Keep an eye out for Jared Evan, Jessica White, DJ Mel DeBarge, and Big Sean. I predict all of these talented folks will have huge careers ahead of them. Karmaloop was on hand during the Grey Goose event to catch up with our future favorite artists.

Here’s what I thought during this entire interview: how is his pants NOT falling down, he needs to eat more because his head looks too big for his body and..i’m proud of Sean for his first appearance on 106&Park. He was introduced by his good friend Chris Brown and went into speaking on his relationship with Brown and how he met Kanye West, and then premiered his video.

Man..isn’t Wiz like 18? Kidding, I know he’s 23. Wizard’s been doing this rap thing since a very young age and I’m happy to see that him and his team over at Rostrum are finally getting the recognition they deserve. Now if he would only get rid of that stupid yellow patch on his head. Rolling Papers drops this week guys!
