Hosts of the annual Toronto music festival “The Manifesto” grabs 9th for a quick yet indepth interview. For those of you who read this here blog, you know of my love for Patrick. He hands down is one of my favorite producers of ever, Hi-Tek being a close second. 9th talks about the Producer/MC relationship and the importance of each of their roles. He explains the difference between a producer and a beatmaker and touches a little on the culture of hip-hop. I’d listen to what this man has to say, he’s a wise one to say the least.
Last night and into the early morning on 3/10 SOBs hosted one of the best hip hop shows I’ve been in attendance to this year. With performances by Massaka, JtheS, Skotch Davis, Donny Goines, Emilio Rojas, Royce da 5’9, Crooked I and special appearances by Asher Roth, Pharoahe Monch and Joe Buddens it was most definitely a night to remember. Enjoy the pictures – I think we got some dope pictures if I do say so myself and yes…that is Crooked I wearing a Coogi sweater. RIP Biggie Smalls.

Patrick is my favorite producer and Laws, I predict is definitely one of the next guys to blow up and pretty big too. I love to hear 9th speak – when 9th Speaks my ADD never kicks in – he just makes great music and if you want to know how to make great music – focus your attention on that man right there. [...]
Jay-Z is what Bill Cosby is? – Oh Wale … I don’t know why you say the things you do sometimes. And why is Skip Bayless so passionate about Jay-Z not being the greatest rapper of all time? And I love how Jaylen just takes a seat back in this conversation and then gets MAD passionate at the end. Skip Bayless what the hell – when did you become a Hip Hop Encyclopedia?! I’m so confused..
Good lord whoever is holding that camera pick a subject and stay on it! This whole flipping back and forth is making me go cross-eyed. Anyways – ATLien Donnis sits down the DJ Kay Slay to acquaint you folks out there to who Donnis is – where he came from – what his past is and his thoughts on signing with ATLantic (see what I did there?) XXL Freshman of 2010 – applaud this kid. After the jump you can catch another interview Mr. Waxx from the good people over at iLLRoots did with Donnis during his time in Chicago a couple weeks ago…

Man say what you want but Pitbull on any track makes me want to shake something. Albeit shake very awkwardly but shake nonetheless. The track is off their upcoming album Tons of Friends dropping March 8th. Where’s my couch – I need something to dance on.

Colin Munroe is another great phenom hailing from Canada. He’s one of my favorite singers and adding him on the track was a wise decision by Naledge and Double O. It’s a subtle song but has a powerful message, taking over the world..it’ll happen one day you can bet on that. The Land of Make Believe drops on March 9th – do yourself a favor and get to a Best Buy on Tuesday.

Mr. Lucas first hopped on my radar when he did that Mike Posner, Red Button remix a while back and then I heard Queen of Apologies and now I can confidently say this kid has talent. This mixtape is hosted by Big Boi and includes a slew of features from the likes of Don Will, Vida and Syd Vicious; production is pretty dopetastic too. Nobody Famous is one of my faves. Tracklist after the jump!
