Rapsody – Thank H.E.R. Now

Jamla’s first-lady is back with her sophomore album and she does not disappoint. This tape showcases her growth in the game with some serious lyricism and dope beats courtesy of 9th’s Soul Council. (I’m so glad they added Eric G!) There’s some extra heat on this one thanks to folks like Phonte, Raekwon, Mac Miller, Murs, Estelle, and Big K.R.I.T. Do not underestimate Ms. Rapsody or you’re bound to get left behind! ENJOY!!!

Freddie Gibbs: Southpaw, Brooklyn (Interview)

While the Returnof4eva tour made their stop in NYC, I got a chance to talk to Freddie Gibbs about freshman progression, upcoming projects, signing with Jeezy and also gives some interesting relationship advice to the broken hearted.

Kevin Cossom “By Any Means” Mixtape Release in NYC

I’ll say it before and I’ll say it again, I want my husband to be able to sing just like Kevin Cossum. I’ve had his mixtape bumping in my iPod for the past week and a half, it’s that darn good. From the listening gathering to mixtape signing at Vinnie Styles in Brooklyn, NY Kevin Cossom is making the transition from behind the scenes as a HitMaker/SongWriter to Artist. Go Behind the music.

ReturnOf4eva: Big K.R.I.T. Return Of 4eva Tour Ep. 2

It’s safe to say that I’m officially a fan girl. The man drives through HAIL, HELL and a tornado to bring the fans his music. What more could you ask for from your favorite artist?

“Nothing is gonna stop this “R4 tour”. Not tornadoes, rain, hail or haters. Here is week 2′s recap of the Return Of 4eva Tour. Dutchington & K.R.I.T. seem pretty calm & composed driving thru the tornado.”

J*DaVeY – Raincheck

And..my girl crush on Jack DaVey continues to be at an all time high with his video. Just an FYI: the visuals are subtly sexual which is probably exciting for most of you boys.

“Off the recently released Evill Christian Cop: The Great Mistapes EP, J*DaVeY releases the visual for “Raincheck.” The video, Directed by John Mazyck, comes as a treat while the duo is on their New World Culture Tour. Check jdaveybaby.com for dates and updates on J*DaVeY’s highly anticipated sophomore album, New Designer Drug coming June 2011.

Rockie Fresh – The Otherside Redux Freestyle

Ha, before I talk about Rockie, can I just say the thirst from the chick in the front is like on a thousand trillion. Eesh. Up top while in Wisconsin, Mr. Fresh premieres The Otherside Redux Freestyle WHILE being backed up by a live band. Pretty class I must say. The Otherside Redux releases in May and features remixes and unreleased tracks from the initial Otherside release with Lil B, Casey Veggies, Phil Ade, Naledge, Rich Hil and many others. Judging from his guest features I can definitely say this project is gonna be worth checking out! Rumble young man rumble.

YC – Racks on Racks

Best song of 2011. There’s no question in my mind.

Ryan Leslie – Glory

I first heard Ryan rapping on Christian Dior Flow and I was mildly intrigued. It seems like now he’s caught the rapping bug because that’s all he’s doing on this track. I’m not sure if I’m feeling it or not but I never really question the genius that is Ryan Leslie. He’ll always be one of my favorites. This track is featured on his upcoming album Les Is More which is in stores July 4th!
